Applied Mechatronics’ AppSizer tool is designed for sizing servo, stepper, AC, or DC motors into a motion control application. It’s an easy to use app for calculating motor torque and velocity requirements, system inertia , and motion system performance for the most common mechatronic positioning systems: rotary loads, screw driven devices, and rack & pinion and belt & pulley mechanisms.
AppSizer features individual pages for sizing the most common motion control applications. Each application page allows you to enter drivetrain and move profile details, such as move distance and time, mechanical reduction and efficiency, and other system details. It will then provide you with the motor performance requirements for triangular and trapezoidal move profiles, and can calculate the load to motor inertia mismatch, which is key to a properly sized motion system.
